Words and photographs collide to create a portrait session like no other.

What is a Blessing session?

One person will receive the spoken Blessing.  We interview your family before the session and share those words while you hold them close.  The photograph captures the moment they hear your words. Read more about the Blessing and how it started here.

What is the basic investment?

The Studio Portrait Session (with Family Interviews) is 1200. Our two main products are wall art and custom books. For our families doing a Blessing session, the words can be printed in your “Blessing Book”. We can also include the words printed on a wall portrait.  The Blessing Video is optional.

What started as a personal project has become the mission and inspiration for every photograph we make. Hear the story from the beginning below.

“What can I give that no one else can?”

PAUL Privette

We are Paul and Kristin Privette. Our family has been significantly impacted by an idea called the Blessing. Over thirty years ago, Paul’s father read a book called “The Blessing” by Gary Smalley and Dr. John Trent. From that moment on, the way he expressed love to his children changed. His words were specific and intentional. His children knew the gifts their father saw in them. They knew they were cherished. They knew their father and mother believed in a great future for them. They knew this because it was spoken to them.

In 2015, we were sitting under market lights, late one evening (really late) at a cozy restaurant in downtown Atlanta. We were having one of those “what do you want to do with your life” conversations. Paul was sharing about how he wanted so much more for his photography. That he felt he could do better and give people something special, something that mattered. The irony is that we were in Atlanta that day to teach a photography course where Kristin had shared, “find what you’re passionate about and give your clients that.” Yet in all honesty, we were still looking for that “thing”.  Paul continued talking about what he loved, what he didn’t love, how he wanted to photograph people, the gifts he could give… He asked, “What can I give that no one else can?” Then he looked at Kristin. He paused, took a breath, and then said...

“It’s the Blessing.”

Your family needs more than the photograph, they need your words.
