Investing in the Photography Industry… with Professional Photographers of America

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016

Last year, Kristin was asked by Professional Photographer’s of America to participate in a very meaningful project to support the fundamental success of the photography industry.  She was asked to join a panel of mentors who would essentially do a “restaurant impossible” with struggling photography businesses.  Or for those who watch The Profit,  essentially PPA wanted to have a major “intervention” with photographers in the U.S.  They wanted to show that success in this industry is absolutely possible and even almost guaranteed if certain basic steps are taken.

PPA chose two photographers who had both been in business for several years yet weren’t sustaining their families like they needed to.  So the five mentors went to work studying these professionals’ image quality, their processes, their brand, their pricing, their sales strategies… and so on.  A total “make over” was in order!  Wes Roberts and Krista Newbill were in for the ride of their lives… and after a year, they both came out of this journey with life-changing success.

The story was just featured on  For photographers, this is a MUST read… because after the incredible success Wes and Krista experienced, PPA has decided to make this “Business Challenge” available to ALL photographers around the country.  You’ll get to walk through the exact steps we took Wed and Krista through.  This is truly an incredible opportunity and we can guarantee it’ll change your business and your life.

We’re Going to Vegas!

Tuesday, February 16th, 2016

These are definitely exciting times!  Typically, after the holidays it slows down for us in January and February so we use this time to invest in education and inspiration which motivates and prepares us for the year ahead.  There are many great things about the photography industry, but one incredible benefit is how many educational opportunities there.

The first week of March, we’ll be traveling all the way from Florida to Las Vegas, Nevada for WPPI, Wedding and Portrait Photographers International event of the year.  We’re excited and honored to be speaking at GraphiStudio’s lounge at the event.  Paul and I (Kristin) will be sharing about how we photograph and design our albums, plus the entire process we take our brides through.  We’ll be posting the exact days and times soon so be on the look out for that.  We’d love to see you!

In January, we attended Imaging USA hosted by  PPA (Professional Photographers of America) in Atlanta and were honored to speak at the convention. We left so inspired and thankful for such a strong community of friends in the photography industry.  We’ve realized the importance of staying connected and relevant in the photography industry by attending events like PPA and WPPI. It not only gives us the chance to stretch in important ways and be impacted by successful photographers around the world, but also gives us the chance to impact and encourage other photographers.

If you’ll be attending WPPI in Vegas, drop us an email ( and let us know!   We would love to connect with you.

Imaging USA 2016

Friday, January 15th, 2016

This past week in Atlanta, GA, we had the honor of speaking to fellow photographers about our “why,” and how that defines our relationships with our clients.  It was an incredible week full of inspiring speakers with purpose-filled messages.  The following images are a snapshot of our time there, including some comments and messages we received throughout the week.

We’ll share more about the content of our class and the challenge we issued to other photographers around the country.  Stay tuned for that.  Most importantly, we want to thank our clients who have loved and supported us for 8 years… that’s why we could stand and share our story. AND a big thanks to the photographers who stopped us after our class and shared your stories.  Make 2016 rock!
